Residences: Calling Kurn Hattin Home

Learning at Kurn Hattin

All of our cottages promote a family atmosphere. Live-in houseparents, who often have families of their own, and relief houseparents, supervise cottage living.

Ten or eleven children live with houseparents in one of ten cottages. Houseparents are there to comfort, nurture and support the children entrusted to their care.

The children's natural parents and houseparents want their children to grow up to become healthy, happy, socially successful individuals. Our daily living program is geared toward this goal. From getting up in the morning to going to bed at night each child's residential experience is filled with meaningful events. Free time, meals, choice of clothes, practicing a musical instrument or completing chores are all part of an important routine.

Parents are strongly encouraged to maintain frequent contact with their children through visits, phone calls and letters.
