Kurn Hattin Homes for Children was presented with a $10,000 check from C&S Wholesale Grocers representatives in a special ceremony on campus on Wednesday, April 19. This grant was made in memory of John A. Hubbard, a lifelong supporter of Kurn Hattin Homes and its mission to transform the lives of children and families forever.
“This very generous donation will have an immediate impact. It will go directly to providing clothing for our children and feeding their families,” said Kurn Hattin Homes Executive Director Steve Harrison. He added, “I’ve been working with children in private school settings for years and what we do here is most rewarding work I’ve done. Our work is really making a difference.”
Alana Fiero, Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications at C&S, explained that corporate donations are made to organizations that align with C&S values that focus on access to nutritious food, the health and wellbeing of children, and environmental sustainability. C&S Senior Vice President of Logistics Ron Wright also emphasized the importance of creating community connections and how C&S and local organizations fit together. In regard to C&S and Kurn Hattin Homes, Ron said, “It fits!”
