Kurn Hattin Teacher Receives National Citizenship Education Teacher Award

December 1, 2010 | Westminster, Vermont – Kurn Hattin Homes’ Social Studies teacher, Richard Long received the 2009-2010 National Citizenship Education Teacher Award from the Vermont State Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

Richard was nominated by Kurn Hattin Homes, Director of Educational and Residential Services, Thomas Fahner. On the certificate he was presented it states, Teachers change our society one day, one class lesson, one student at a time. There’s no more important job. And there’s no one who does the role better. Thank you. Kurn Hattin is proud of Richard Long for receiving this distinguished honor and educating the children for over 29 years. Kurn Hattin Homes is a charitable, year-round home and school for in-need and at-risk children, ages 6-15, from throughout the Northeast.
