Twenty-Two Kurn Hattin Students Make Honor Roll
Westminster, VT – Kurn Hattin is proud to announce that twenty-two students have made the Honor Roll at the school’s second quarter. Kurn Hattin offers a certified 1-8 academic program in which students are placed in academic classes based on their academic abilities and needs. The objective is to recognize learning style, not as a way to label children, but to understand how each child learns best and in what ways Kurn Hattin might facilitate that learning. The curriculum includes basic subjects such as Math, Language Arts, Reading, Social Studies and Science. Children also attend classes in Music, Physical Education, Health, Art and Social Skills Training. The mathematics ability groupings are the names of North American Indian Tribes.
The main ability groupings, which are the names of the northeastern states and their grade equivalent, are: MA ( Pre 1 – 3.0), PA (3.0 – 4.5), MD (4.0 – 5.5), CT (5.0 – 6.5), NH (6.0 – 7.0), (NY 5.0 – 7.0), ME (6.5 – 7.5), and VT (7.5. – up).
Fifth through eighth grade students are on Honors if they have earned all As and Bs in their academic courses. High Honors is achieved by having earned all As. The Honorees receive a signed certificate by the principal. Congratulations to the following students:
