1923Kurn Hattin began admitting girls
1923The first African American student, Hermann V. Robinson, enrolled at Kurn Hattin. Robinson was an inspirational scholar and vocalist who later went on to perform with the New York Metropolitan Opera 
1927W. I. “Pete” Mayo took over as Kurn Hattin director and served for 35 years
